Wow, for someone that knows everything there is to know
about feeding a baby, you should probably know that its been a little longer than «hundreds of years» that women and infants have «flourished from breast
feeding» You sound very ignorant and judgemental and I hope whatever child you're breastfeeding doesn't pick that up from you, that is
way more unhealthy than a mother than uses
formula!
In addition, the WHO Code states that it is the responsibility of health workers to advise mothers on infant
feeding — first and foremost by encouraging and protecting breastfeeding, secondly to inform the mother
about appropriate alternatives (advantages and disadvantages) which include instructions on how to prepare infant
formula in a correct
way.
Over the last few days we have been showing a few examples as to what we mean by their tactics such as - Excluding breastfeeding off forms when they ask
about the
way the baby gets
fed,
formula samples being sent to homes that never even signed up, Hospitals giving mothers
formula samples even after they explicitly state they will be breastfeeding, Changing some words on the can to target breastfeeding mothers to buy their
formula, I even tried calling into the «Lactation service» they offer for free and pretended I was having trouble with supply so asked what I should do.
Be alert to
formula advertising so that you can make a clearheaded decision
about the best
way to
feed your baby.
What
about formula fed by a nursing supplementer, at the breast (which is totally possible for some women and is often a
way to mother at the breast, despite not being able to bring in a full milk supply, for whatever reason)?
