The OAR proposal uses a variation of therapeutic cloning called altered
nuclear transfer (ANT) in which the nucleus of a donor cell (a skin cell, for example), containing the 30,000 genes of the genetic
code, is altered in such a
way that it produces an epigenetic factor, a protein called nanog.
It would also be useful, were one to be given the opportunity, to examine the entire end - to - end operational setting of these government - funded GCM models to see how they are being handled from a
code base management perspective and design basis management perspective, and a data management perspective — i.e., are the models developed and operated in a
way that is consistent with the software lifecycle QA standards commonly aopplied to other government funded activities such as national defense and
nuclear production operations.
