Over against the wide gate and
easy way to destruction, followed by many, Jesus points to the narrow gate and hard way to life, which few find.
Here, instead of careless throngs passing down the
broad way to destruction, we see the narrow door besieged in vain by an anxious, pushing crowd.
He goes on to say: «Broad and Wide is
the Way to destruction.»
Therefore, we are losing that spiritual basis, and our civilization is changing and on
the way to destruction, unless we can reverse the process.
Jesus may be the «way» — I am convinced he is not
the way to destruction.
We can understand how, for them,
the way to destruction is broad and easy.
