The shrines just didn't do it for
me the way traditional dungeons did.

There is a set path the invaders will take on the
way to destroy the center of your
dungeon, and it's your job to keep them from reaching the center, in a
traditional tower defense fashion.
For Sphinx, that was a
traditional adventure / platformer set up similar to the Zelda games of the time, and for the Mummy, it was a puzzle / stealth hybrid where you had to use his abilities (and reactions to the environment) to solve puzzles and find your
way out of maze like
dungeons.
TESO employs a group dynamic very similar to the
traditional setup of classic RPGs that date all the
way back to tabletop
Dungeons & Dragons.
We created the games in the
traditional «The Legend of Zelda» series in steps that players could easily understand and follow; the player would obtain a new item in each
dungeon, use the item to clear that
dungeon and be able to enjoy applying the items in different
ways after acquiring about eight items.
