Apple rejiggered its operating system to slow down phones with these older,
weaker batteries so that they don't tax them and force a shut down.

The car hadn't shown any signs of a
weak battery beforehand, and when I got home, I measured the voltage on the
battery and it showed a healthy 12v (and started again happily),
so had presumably charged itself up fine on the way home.
The RMA'd Kobo they sent me has a
weak battery, barley lasting a week a charge, they didn't send me a receipt back (and said i had to send them my original receipt with the Kobo)
so i cant RMA the one i received back from them!!
Regardless, the Torch has
weaker battery life than the Bold 9700,
so I really noticed the difference.
All signs point to them shoving a
weak battery down our throats, only to shake us down for the better one later...
so, why has stock been
so sparse?
The one
weak point, if you can call it that, is that there is no removable
battery that can be brought inside to charge, and the Wheels aren't equipped with a quick release to remove it for charging,
so the whole bike has to be brought within reach of an outlet to charge it.
Since
batteries get
weaker as they age, Apple's updates are an attempt to smooth out performance
so it remains optimal throughout the
battery's life.
As one of the market leaders for
battery life in this range — nothing beats the Surface Book 2 — it should come as no surprise that the XPS 13 does
so well in
battery tests, even if this version is a little
weaker in that regard than its predecessor.
