the wearable tech category, announcing the Sony SmartBand, a wristband which would have a Sony Core tracker device, keeping the log of your fitness and activity.

Wearable tech, particularly watches, are such a new device
category, it's unclear whether there's a huge appetite for them, even those sold by Apple.
Samsung, LG, Motorola and other
tech giants have all introduced watches of their own to a somewhat lukewarm response in recent years, but the Apple Watch — given the company's unique ubiquity — holds potential for widespread adoption of the
wearables category.
With the
category now validated as a strategic hotspot for all major corporations and platforms, investors are clamoring to fund
wearable tech startups.
It seems as though 2017 may be the year we see activity in this
category of
wearable tech.
The question of how to combine these two
categories is one of the most interesting in
wearable tech right now.
Even though, Moto 360 and the rumored One Plus One smartwatches do not lie in this
category, but because of their intentional good looks, HP smartwatch will already have a tough competition to face later this fall when the both
wearable tech gets out.
As long as I've been covering

category has always been on the cusp of something.
The watch is expected to be launched in the coming months, and this year already shows the
wearable tech overshadowing the smartphone, with every big name in the Industry getting into this
category — Samsung Gear Fit, LG Lifeband Touch, Sony Smartband and lots more.
