Do you know that you decide how and when you want a
weather widget to update or not at all?
There are a few Asus - designed
widgets: email, clock and
weather, but they don't really add to the Android native options.
This includes (but is certainly not limited to) the ability to ascribe live news feeds,
weather forecasts and other similarly helpful «
widgets» to your five home screens, which means you can see at a glance what iPad users have to open a specific app for — and here on a large screen
widgets really
do come into their own.

weather widget below is available to embed on third party websites free of charge and provides a summary of our Praia
do Norte surf forecast.
They don't have the ability to use «background refresh» — so, for example, the Yahoo!
Weather widget here isn't automatically checking for new
weather throughout the day.
The top of the launcher now houses an informative
widget which will apparently
do much more than just delivering the
weather: it will also inform the user of upcoming events like dinners.
But, this version
does have a working Google Now panel, the G pill animation, swipe up for the app drawer,
weather widget and the date
widget.
Some feel they are surfacing articles that they don't have any interest in instead of giving focus to other
widgets such as your stocks, the
weather, and favorite sports teams.
Not only are there now more to select from as new ones have been added in, but many of them will also now allow you to customize details, For example you can place
widgets on the screen that will either list off information such as the
weather and date, or you can place interactive
widgets that
do things like bring up the heart rate or the list of workout features.
This time around, Google is
doing away with the «pill» and
weather widgets that took up the top section of the launcher, instead bringing back the search bar and placing it in a much more sensible place — under the docked icons.
It
did away with the traditional Google search bar, and instead presented owners with a redesigned Google «pill»
widget on the left and a
weather and date
widget on the right.
The default TouchWiz «clock» lock screen
widget now
does a little more when you swipe down, giving you
weather info and details of upcoming appointments.
This doesn't feel hugely different from the pure Lollipop home screen - the
weather and clock app is just a
widget that can be removed should you want to.
While it has been possible to install the Pixel Launcher via an APK, some functionality, specifically the Google Now pull tab and the new
weather widget, didn't work unless the launcher was installed as a system app.
