week of Story Book Summer we're sharing Space themed books and activities bringing them alive.

I will be sharing my reviews
of these three exciting
books over the next few
weeks, first up is my review
of Wishker, a fun
story all about a magic cat.

book, longtime Capitol correspondent Tom Precious will tell the
story of casinos in modern New York, including the current process
of siting up to four gambling halls upstate, the pacts between Native American tribes and past governors that gave birth to Turning Stone and the three casinos operated by the Seneca Nation

Children's
Book Week is part
of BookTrust's Time to Readcampaign, which encourages families to keep reading together and sharing
stories, even when children are beginning to read independently.
Within hours
of posting our lead
story this
week on the release
of Professor Tom Hehir's new
book, How Did You Get Here?
Children will delight in the way the author highlights the ridiculousness
of the adults in Nanny Piggins» world, while classroom teachers can read each chapter as a standalone
story within a lesson, or the
book as an ongoing whole over the course
of days or
weeks.
The next step is usually in the next term and may take one to two
weeks: we put all the
stories onto a single word document, create a table
of contents and print out at least three copies
of the whole
book to be proofread by volunteer «editors - in - chief», selected from the class.

In the news this
week were
stories based on Kindle Unlimited earnings, the Indie Author Power Pack's push for the bestseller list, the importance
of your
book launch, the Nook Press push for print on demand and traditional publishing's view on contracts with indies.
It's a historical novel set in the medieval period (telling the
story of the real King Richard III), so I'm
booking stalls at every appropriate medieval festival; it's a
book aimed primarily at children aged 10 and up, so I'm making overtures to local schools about author visits and to libraries; I'm attending events at my first literature festival next
week to meet and network with local authors and hand out some leaflets (maybe even sell a copy or two).
Speaking
of hearts, there's one last reward
of reviewing that I'd like to mention: that as an author myself, I know how heartwarming it is to receive an enthusiastic review for my own work, and the arrival
of not one but two glowing reviews for my latest
book, the collection
of very short
stories (aka flash fiction) has made my
week already — and it's still only Tuesday.
