I've been waiting to
style a few spring
items for
weeks now, but I never thought I'd be wearing winter pieces to accessorize certain outfits.
Today I am excited to round up my spring must haves, and many of these
items you'll see
styled in the upcoming
weeks!
My fashion
week style always includes those
items that make me feel fabulous but equality confident and comfortable too.
So for the next 6
weeks on Fridays we will show you how we
styled a trendy spring
item and how we kept it under $ 75.
Shot and interviewed in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, last
week, each student was asked to bring an outfit emblematic of a potential first day of school look; each was also asked to choose
items from the WWD racks around which senior market editor Mayte Allende would
style an outfit.
Each fashion
week, a select handful of
items become street
style sensations.
When I find a
style or trend I like, I tend to always become a little obsessed with it, and in a matter of
weeks find my wardrobe absolutely jam packed with the
item in a whole variety of cuts, designs &
styles.

The thought of
styling a Pom Pom hemmed
item sounds frightful and something reserved for fashion
week, but the best thing of all is that it's so subtle you can tie it in with your capsule wardrobe
items without fail.
I wear black jeans more days of the
week than many other
items in my wardrobe, so
styling a graphic jumper with them is just what happens.
There are a ton of great sales going on this
week — Piperlime and Shopbop just marked down hundreds of
styles and J.Crew is offering 25 % off new
items (I couldn't resist stocking up on their classic button downs.)
Because I work in an environment where I wear business casual clothing 4 - 5 times per
week, I thought this would be a great time to talk about how to transition between the two
styles and find
items that you can substitute in each category.
I am constantly shopping or receiving new
items to share from amazing companies, and it sometimes takes me a
week or two to
style, photograph, and put them into a blog or social post (and sometimes the
items are so good that by that time they're on their way to selling out).
I have loved getting to know some of you that stop by every
week and I love getting new ideas on how to
style items in my closet.
Today's post is not about a single trend or way to wear an
item but I am showing here some of my favourite looks I have collected from last Fashion

You get two
weeks to get your
items in place and then I send out a daily outfit e-mail and
style tips every day for three
weeks.
There are definitely pieces I've had for years where the enthusiasm never goes away, but it's the most fun during the first few
weeks to experiment with
styling an
item with things you already have.
I'm still ironing out exactly how this will evolve but I'm thinking along the lines of featuring 1 core
item a
week, that I
style into a few different looks.
Throughout the
week I will work on
styling it for you and will create a set of various
items it would work with to show you here on Fridays.
