We will compare the proportion of patients meeting guidelines for gestational weight gain and for
weight retention at 1 year postpartum between the two groups using logistic regression analyses.
The effects of GWG and breastfeeding on
weight retention at 6 mo postpartum were tested by using multiple linear regression.
Similar analyses were performed for
weight retention at 18 mo postpartum.
To illustrate the joint effects of GWG and breastfeeding on
weight retention at 6 and 18 mo postpartum, predictions were made by using the regression estimates.
