of coconut oil, cocoa powder and raw
honey or stevia to make them sugar - free as
well.

I wanted to use dates
in place of the
honey, so I pureed a
good handful (8 or so?)
I made a few adjustments... didn't have almond butter so I used pumpkin seed butter which worked quite
well, I am allergic to eggs so I used 6 quail eggs instead, and then used raw agave syrup
in place of the
honey.
Note For a vegan «white chocolate yogurt», blonde coconut nectar works
well in the
place of the raw
honey.
For those looking for sweetener alternatives
in this recipe, I have substituted stevia
in place of agave or
honey in many
of Elana's recipes with fairly
good results and I'm sure this scone recipe would be the same.
I found using a pastry blender worked
well to work the shortening / butter into the coconut flour and coconut palm sugar I substituted
in place of the
honey.
M - I regularly use
honey in place of Agave and it always works
well as a substitute since it's a similar consistency.
I didn't have
honey, but I did have maple syrup, so this recipe is also very
good with maple syrup
in place of the
honey.
