I went over the stain with a white Taklon brush leaving the top smooth as a baby's bottom.

go to a boutique store, and spend $ 50 for a pair of pants for my son, but an hour and a half later there would be grass
stains and holes all

go that route, be sure to give them a good look
over for
stains and a sniff for any lingering funk.

went on beautifully and it gave it a gorgeous sheen.
My cabinets had that shiny varnish on them and the

The glossier the paint the less the
stain will show up
over the stencil, so
go gloss for a really white stencil and flat for a more tone on tone effect.

stain to the table, I just wiped it up and down the length of the table and
went right
over the indented lines.
I
went to town with my electric palm sander and then added a coat of warm honey colored
stain over top.
The wood was mahogany, so a coat of clear Shellac
went over the whole set to prevent that red
stain from bleeding through.
Oh my goodness... I think IF she plans on keeping it and not tearing it down and starting
over, paint the outside, keep the white, do black shutters and a great color for the front door or get a new solid wood one, 2nd... on the inside, seeing that J Lo transformed her husband's NY place into more modern fare, I think that she would definitely add color (all the walls are white) in the lighter neutrals, reverse the dark
stained wood molding in the sitting area around the ceiling and windows into something lighter to coordinate with whatever wall color she chooses or white, 3rd... she would remove most of the colonial furniture pieces, especially sofas and chairs, and add something with more interest, 4th... holy cow... that red carpet on the stairs would definitely

I ended up
staining it first with English Walnut, then
going over it with Weathered Oak.
Did you have to strip off all the original varnish or does that gel
stain go over the original finish.
Then I remembered a pin on pinterest that says if you get grease on your clothes you should
go over it with a piece of chalk, because the chalk will soak up the
stain.
However, it is
going over a very dark and old
stained finish and now I'm wishing I had sanded it slightly before painting.
I came across some wood and decided to make them look like vintage signs so I
stained them then painted them and before the paint dried I took water on my brush and
went over the paint and wiped areas to let the wood show thru so it looks like they signs faded.
Wish there was a white
stain that wouldnt
go pink
over the oak.
Plus, we reasoned we could always
go back and paint
over the
stain if it didn't turn out — but it's pretty hard to
stain over paint.
This isn't something I recommend for «used» cabinets —
stains can be tricky and
going over surfaces that have ANY kind of wear — be it from weather elements, human touch, or every day use — can be a challenge, resulting in an uneven finish thats impossible to fix...
