These are men greeds and are unrelated to religion nor it is in favor of religions... religion is a direct spritual connection between the Servent and his GOD... that was what most of us knew before we were spoiled by the «Islamic Belt Idea» that the West had introduced and marketed it in our MidEast area towards encouraging youth to join militants in «Jihad» establishing that belt surrounding and fighting the communists in Afghanistan and some Asian countries... It's interesting to see how people will find their own truth, dig in their heals and be blind to any other idea... What would Jesus do is an interesting question... I've been reading the monastics recently, and it strikes me that while much of modern evangelicalism echoes their teachings on self - control and self - denial when it comes to sexuality, we tend to gloss over a lot what this great cloud of monastic witnesses has to say about self - control and self - denial in other areas of life — like materialism, food, relationships, and hospitality.

Instead, when they wanted to know my three greatest sins, what they really wanted was three areas of my life in which I constantly struggled with sin.

TV preachers like Kenneth Copeland tell us what we often want to hear: «God intends for you to be satisfied in every area of your life.»

Based on what I know of God, I don't think it is within the character or nature of God to separate anyone from Him eternally simply because they were unlucky enough to live in an area that didn't have a Bible.

Certainly, Jesus changed some of the Kingdom expectations through His life, teaching, and ministry, especially in the areas of what sort of Messiah King He was going to be, and how the Kingdom of God would exist and function upon the earth, but the overall hopes and dreams of Israel, especially as presented within the Prophets, remained intact through the teachings and ministry of John, Jesus, and the Early Church.

I'm as.suming you live in a rural area which makes you want to believe what you said to be the absolute truth, but I'll help you out of ignorance, there are good and bad people everywhere, christian or non-christian and when people «go to the country» to rest, it isn't because city life is so amoral and horrible, it's because its fast paced.

Jeremy thanks for your comments alot of this i never really thought about before until you provoked me to seek the truth in the word it is what we all should be doing finding the truth for ourselves God wants to reveal mysterys if we are open to hear.If we have been christians awhile we just take the word of whoevers preaching or whichever clip we see on god tube its knowledge but not revelation.Because the story sounds plausible we tag that on to our belief for example for many years i believed that the rich young rulers problem was money so the way to deal with that problem is to give it away and be a follower of Jesus sounds plausible.Till you realise every believers situation is different so the message has to be universal.So the reason its not about money because it excludes those that do nt have it and does nt make room for those that do have it but do nt worship it.The rich young ruler was not a bad person he lived by a good moral code but he made money his idol he put that before God.The word says we shall not have any idols thats a sin and a wicked one.In fact there wasnt any room in his heart for Jesus that is a tragedy.So when we see the message is about Idolatry we all have areas that we chose not to submit to God thats universal everyone of us whether we are rich or poor.I believe we are unaware that we have these idols what are some of them that was revealed to me our partners our children our work our church our family i can sense some of you are getting fidgetty.

We are trying to get to know some of the single mothers in our area, not just to befriend them, but also to provide what help we can in life.

The erosion of the soil in areas that have been abused for their mineral wealth, the pollution of the air where poor people live, are not just facts of nature; what we have is an ethical judgement on the exploitation of natural resources by the rich at the expense of the poor.

«WE HAVE THE VICTORY» For those struggling with thoughts of unforgiveness and attacks on the mind especially deceiving thoughts and doubts these are from satan in the word they are called fiery darts we are to quench those darts by faith so we need to read the word and believe that Gods word is true.We also have the victory over these thoughts because when we accept Jesus the holy spirit dwells within us so satan does nt have authority over us he can not rule what belongs to God he can only deceive.We can not defeat the enemy in our strength we need the holy spirit when we try and overcome him in our strength we struggle especially with our thoughs and in the area of sin.If you are having evil thoughts or doubts commit your way unto the Lord and let him fight your battle.Tell the enemy he has no authority over you that you are under the covering of Jesus Christ and when you have doubts memorise verses on faith ie greater is he that is in me than he that is in the world.The holy spirit is just like Jesus talk to him be friends with him he helps us to live like Christ and gives us the power to do it.We are overcomers more than conquerers through Christ who strengthens us.brentnz

Rick the more i think about it we are to live as overcomers not strugglers since the day i decided to turn away from the sin that was controlling my life i never fell back into old sinful patterns not once, was i tempted many many times.The Lord will work in our lives one area at a time he needs us to give him full control so if an area is taking control we do need to hand it to him so he can change us.How do we do it immediately we say Lord you know i am weak but in you i am strong i leaned on him and overcame time and time again.We all have areas of weakness that we struggle in so do nt feel bad.Struggling is us trying to do it in our own strength before this process i was so stubborn i refused to let God help me i wanted to do it in my own strength and so it was a roller coaster ride in my christian walk if the day went well i was on a high if it did nt i would would be down.Not any more now when things do nt go to plan i still thank the Lord and when it goes well i thank the Lord.Because i know that all things work for good to those who love the Lord.The main area he is wanting is our hearts he wants all our heart not only some until we come to that place we will continue to struggle in our faith.The only reason to tell you this is not to boast because of what i have done in myself because i have nothing to boast about but if i did i would brag that Christ has empowered me by his holy spirit to be an overcomer just as he would want you to be.As Christians we are all called to be overcomers more than conquerers.Make a decision today to turn all your hearts to the Lord to acknowledge the areas you are holding onto that are controlling your flesh life hand them to the Lord and walk according to the spirit and not the flesh and he will give you the victory.That can be a reality starting today merry christmas everyone and may the new year be an exciting one as we put all our trust in Christ our Lord and savior.Brentnz

What is so needed today is civility in discourse concerning matters of politics, education, human relationships and religion to name but a few areas of life!

What are some areas in your life where Enough is Enough and you can put aside the money you would have spent on the Kingdom of God instead?

I currently live in Ontario, in Ottawa, in China town area, but adjacent to (what is referred to on the municipal tourism website as) the «gaybourhood».

But in ministry, as in every area of life, God is far more concerned with who we are than with what we do.

«Fullness of life» may mean many things; but what is meant here appears from the fact that it is something which other faiths also offer in an inferior or equal manner and that it is elsewhere declared that «our dedication... is to the progressive realization of the dignity and worth of man in every area of life — political, economic, social and religious.»

Often the choice must be construed from what appears to human perspective as a gray area, and it is precisely this, as Robert Browning pointed out in The Ring and the Book, that constitutes «life's terrible choice.»

Also: If you were an Atheist that lived in those areas and had to face the threat of being murdered if anyone found out what you were, you'd care about what these people thought.

Which areas of my life require patience, waiting, and anticipation... and what can Advent teach me about perseverance in those areas?
