The report, prepared by the Massachusetts Advocacy Center and the Center for Early Adolescence at the University
of North Carolina, attempts to merge
what its authors say have until now been two mutually exclusive
areas of research: effective middle - school
practice and dropout prevention.
One is core disciplinary ideas in
areas of life science, physical science, earth and space science, connected to a set
of what is called «science and engineering
