5oo, ooo priests for 1.2 billion Catholics - There is the answer to why the abusing priests were tolerated. The conclave elected exactly who they wanted to be Pope - Someone who would not rock the boat.I believe Pope Benedict was advised to retire
in light of the Federal indictment pending so this would not involve a standing Pope and the possiblity of him being found guilty.I further think this new election of Pope will allow the
Church to
change it's stance on the very controvertial issues the
Church is facing ie.female priests being one, the decisions appearing more acceptable coming from a new head as opposed to reversed stance of standing Pope. This decision to retire,

Noni and all those who find themselves ostracised or slandered unfairly firstly God loves you and you are special to him you are his children his daughters and sons do nt ever forget that so you are not alone
in fact you are the apple of his eye and he loves you.No matter
what people say about you it does nt
change the fact that he loves you and will protect you just abide
in him he will strengthen you
in your weakness.Never think you are alone we have the holy spirit and have other believers even though we may not go to
church together we love the Lord just as much as you do which means we are brothers and sisters
in Christ.Just trust him and take each day as it comes he promises to never leave us or forsake us.He has given us his strength
in our weakness so that like him we are overcomers the head not the tail.Keep asking the Lord
what it is he wants you to do and be obedient though it may be hard but
in the end it will prove good for you for the Lord is for you not against you.regards brentnz
It is clearly designed to build followers, who believe their eternal soul relies on doing
what the
church says (doesn't work on everyone, most people take
what they need form the
church and keep their own ability to make decisions
in their lives, but that doesn't
change what the system is designed to do).
It just saddens me that you seem to have gotten sidetracked

what constitutes the Body of Christ, both universally and locally.

what you do, but do nt try to put things
in other people's opinion or minds, jesus died for our sins, so that we can have better lives and be forgiven for our sins here on earth and move on to a beter place, becouse souls do nt die «read the bible, if you do nt understand it, find a
church that can help you learn a better way of life, I pray for everyone out there that does nt know jesus christ as ther savior to accept
what he has to offer to you «love forgiveness and ever lasting life «Christians» stay strong and [ass the word of god on and share all your tedtimonies
in life» god bless everyone»»
It's time to think about
what the
change in the law means:
what are the implications for
churches?
It calls every member of the
Church • to renew their faith; • to make an actual effort to share it; • to recognise, certainly, a growing awareness of people to the
changing circumstances of life today; • to value
what is positive
in every culture, while at the same time purifying it from elements that are contrary to the full realisation of the person according to the design of God revealed
in Christ.
I've known Jesus for as long as I've known my name, and still I use other people like capital to advance my own interest, still I gossip to make myself feel important, still I curse my brothers and sisters
in one breath and sing praise songs
in the next, still I sit
in church with arms folded and cynicism coursing through my bloodstream, still I talk a big game about caring for the poor without doing much to
change my own habits, still I indulge
in food I'm not hungry for and jewelry I don't need, still I obsess over
what people say about me on the internet, still I forget my own privilege, still I talk more than I listen and complain more than I thank, still I commit acts of evil, still I make a great commenter on Christianity and a lousy practitioner of it.
Tim i found it liberating to just do
what the Lord wants you to do i work within his boundarys and yes i attend
church and enjoy it.I love the people and i love hearing the word and worshipping the Lord even if others are still bound up with traditions thats not my walk thats theres. My focus is to do
what the Lord wants me to do.There have been times i have said no to the pastor he does nt understand why i choose not to lead the worship.i query him as well regarding the idea that its not just performing a function because there is a need our hearts have to be
in the right place so that the Lord can use us but he did nt understand where i was coming from and thats okay because of that i just said no until my heart is right i am better not being involved
in leading. But i am happy to be an encouragement to others
in the worship team i havent wanted to be the leader i have done that
in the past.So my focus has been just the singing and being part of different worship teams i think the Lord has other plans as the groups i am
in seem to be
changing at the same time i am aware that i do nt to worry about
change as the Lord knows
whats best.I used to be quite comfortable leading the music but that was before when i was operating
in my own self confidence and pride. The Lord did such a huge
change in my life that i lost my self confidence and that is not a bad thing at all as my spiritual growth has been incredible. The big
change was my identity moved from me and
what i could do to knowing who i was
in Christ and that he is my strength and confidence. Now i know that without him i can do nothing
in fact i am dependent on his empowerment through his holy spirit all the time
in everything.
In the weekend i was asked to lead the music at another
church i attend multiple
churchs although i attend two regularly one has services
in the morning and one has services
in the evening so the two do nt really clash.
In the weekend i was asked to lead the music its been two years since i did that and i was worried on how i would go.All i can say is that it went really well and because i stepped out
in Faith the Lord really blessed the morning to the congregation. The difference is knowing that i serve the Lord with the gifts he has given me but my heart has to be right and when i do it
in his way it builds up the body and it brings glory to him.May the Lord continue to show you
what he wants you to do even though others may not understand your reasons i just want you to know that you do nt have to pull away completely just work within the boundarys that the Lord gives you and do nt feel pressured by others expectations to do anything that feel uncomfortable.Be involved just as you feel lead by the holy spirit even if it is
in a very minor way take small steps.regards brentnz
One of the striking things about the Easter and post-Easter narratives
in the New Testament is that they are largely about incomprehension: which is to say that,
in the canonical Gospels, the early
Church admitted that it took some time for the first Christian believers to understand
what had happened
in the Resurrection, and how
what had happened
changed everything.
But that is all
changing now, and I can not wait to see
what happens
in the
church and
in the world as a result.
We must conclude this chapter with a look at
what changes came upon the early
Church, through its conviction of salvation through the Cross of Christ,
in relation to the social environment.
Jeremy i am surprised you never countered my argument Up till now the above view has been my understanding however things
change when the holy spirit speaks. He amazes me because its always new never old and it reveals why we often misunderstand scripture
in the case of the woman caught
in adultery. We see how she was condemned to die and by the grace of God Jesus came to her rescue that seems familar to all of us then when they were alone he said to her Go and sin no more. This is the point we misunderstand prior to there meeting it was all about her death when she encountered Jesus something incredible happened he turned a death situation into life situation so from our background as sinners we still
in our thinking and understanding dwell
in the darkness our minds are closed to the truth.
In effect
what Jesus was saying to her and us is chose life and do nt look back that is
what he meant and that is the walk we need to live for him. That to me was a revelation it was always there but hidden.Does it
change that we need discipline
in the
church that we need rules and guidelines for our actions no we still need those things. But does it
change how we view non believers and even ourselves definitely its not about sin but its all about choosing life and living. He also revealed some other interesting things on salvation so i might mention those on the once saved always saved discussion.Jeremy just want to say i really appreciate your website because i have not really discussed issues like this and it really is making me press
in to the Lord for answers to some of those really difficult questions.regards brentnz
Yep you are right, I moved down here
in the state of Mississippi, north of Crystal Springs from Chicago when I was ten years old but still I visit once
in a while, now it's twenty years and sad to not much has
change, like the parts you said about non-whites discrimatory or rasicts at other non-whites, when I went to school here they treated me as a alien from another galaxy, they pick at my voice cause I didn't had that southern dialog, unlike them I said my words correctly, but not just me, they even hated at others who had better intelect I am not picking at them, It is
what I went through all these years, Mississippi and mainly this small town of Crystal Springs see America
in a crazy awful view, They don't like difference that even within they own race, ther not that politcal, when some one say God they got there vote, I don't to say much to waste your time, I still remember when I was ten years old I had a constanct back ground check on me to see were I really come from evn though I had the paper saying Chicago Illinois barely no jobs but a
church on every street for a town barely under five Thousand, till this very day, they look at me like I am a alien, did you ever had that experiance down here damn my keybroad mess up,
Change, to keep the
church alive
in the 21st century (
in the UK at least where churchgoing is about as normal as ferret juggling) needs to be far, far more radical than that, and based on an assessment of
what real people's real needs are, rather than a thirst for novelty.
It

in the
Church as a whole?
The full passage doesn't
change the context
in the least, unless you think that the
church should not follow and do
what christ said.
What is clear, however, is that
church - state issues
in public education have
changed forever and that such issues as school - sponsored prayer, the posting of the ten Commandments and the teaching of creation science are the arguments of yesterday.
I've heard so many «life
changing» plans, visions, dreams and goals being presented
in church and missions and all the way I went for them and tried to humbly folow because I didn't like myself, didn't know myself and was just too damaged to see this vision stuff for
what it really is.
However, God knows
what He is doing and things will
change in His
church whether we are comfortable with it or not.
