what I've read is ideal size for use through any
ebook distribution channel) down to 1333x???? (sorry, not at my computer at present so can't remember the dimensions it shrinks it to).

what I've seen of
ebook covers, simplicity is indeed the key.
So
what you actually see on
ebook readers is that they automatically adjust to display
covers of a variety of sizes and ratios.
Now
what would possibly work is selling people the physical book AND including rights to download the
ebook as well, contrary to
what I am sure the publisher would tell you, Every download wouldnt be a lost sale or lost profit, because how many people are logically going to buy the hard
cover and
ebook as well?
It's important that you keep in mind
what I mentioned earlier about to much clutter with regards to elements included in your design and a reason being is that online shelves display
eBook covers as small thumbnails at a size of about 80 x 115 pixels.
But let me walk you through
what the size requirements really mean, how I design an
ebook cover to fit everywhere, and why I focus on design first.
