Aside from the fact that the
honey is part of

taste * so great, corn syrup is derived from, well, corn and has to be heavily processed to get to the syrup state.

Quick question on this one though - I made it in a food processor and added a little extra cacao, and suddenly it seized up on me and became thick and kind of gritty, with the coconut oil separating from the mixture...
what did I do wrong??? Granted, it still
tasted pretty darn delish as the clumps were basically
honey and cacao, but still...??? Thanks!
However, if you want it sweeter
tasting with
what you've made, you could mix some
honey in or enjoy it with some jam on top.
Growing up I never knew
what real raw
honey tasted like, until I tried it later in life.
I personally find that when mixed with maple syrup it
tastes utterly delicious, but experiment and find out
what you love (bananas,
honey, maple syrup, dates and stevia all give a great chocolate
taste!)
However, my Jewish gf said that that is
what honey cake is supposed to
taste like.
I added anise seed to the recipe because thats
what my old
honey cake recipe called for and I love the
taste.
If that is
what you need it for, however, it truly is one of the best -
tasting honey out there.
I know that bee pollen is not a common ingredient but it is
what makes the syrup
taste like
honey.
