what you do, anyone who truly believes in something and follows through on it is awesome — but I just want everyone else to know that it's ok to be a flexible healthy eater!

What most
people don't understand is that
Paleo is equal parts meat and vegetables, even though this meatloaf has a bacon topping, it is also packed with a pound of spinach.
Also, commenting on
Paleo diet, I'm not sure just
what it is, except that it's a diet of
what some
people think that our ancient ancestors ate ten thousand or more years ago.
The secret to my
paleo meatloaf is that I use almond meal instead of bread crumbs / crackers, tomato paste instead of ketchup, and balsamic vinegar in the sauce to make
people wonder, «
what on earth is making this so tasty?»
I feel like since the
Paleo / Primal movement has taken off,
people are throwing nut flours and nut butters in everything just to make them consistent with

Our family has started all meat diet about 2 - 3 weeks ago (we were
paleo before) and I'm struggling to convince other
people that
what we are doing is not harmful: i need to convince my mum who is very vocal about it and thinks i'm harming my children, her grandchildren and also i need to provide some evidence for a childminder who is very concerned about my son she is looking 2 days a week and asked me for a written approval from our GP (we are in UK).
All this stuff is so confusing, especially since even in the
paleo world,
people can't seem to agree on
what is the optimal diet.

paleo diet is.
Unlike the
people who think that we should eat only
what our Paleolithic ancestors ate (meat, vegetables, fruit, nuts, tubers) because that is
what we are genetically adapted to eat,
people who follow the teachings of Weston A. Price (see May 20, 2010 post) look to our more recent ancestors and
what they ate prior to the introduction of industrial foods in the 1800s, i.e.
paleo foods plus dairy products and properly prepared grain products.
It's a little more restrictive than
what I recommend, at least in the form some
people describe it, but unlike adherents other diets,
Paleo is not driven by any single
person's ideas, but rather by the body of science that describes
what people in the past have done.
Since we don't know
what those
people were eating when graph was created and they certanly didn't eat
paleo, we can't infer anything meaningful for low carb diets.
Other
Paleo authors are more inspired by
what they believe Paleolithic
peoples ate, and if it wasn't rice or dairy then they exclude those.
Based on my research and clinical experience, I have found that starting from
what some authors call a «
paleo template» is the most appropriate starting place for most
people.
And with following a
Paleo lifestyle, I have
people drop their jaws when I tell them
what it is that I eat every day.....
It's also why any personal experiences
people have had with a Vegan diet can be directly applied to
what you will probably experience with the
Paleo -LSB-...]
In retrospect, I probably should've called it «Lessons from the Low - Fatters:

people are irked by the use of the word
paleo, tell them to find out for themselves
what it has to offer and decide for themselves if it will work for them or not.
The AIP also requires a commitment to food preparation and cooking beyond
what most
people need to do on a standard
paleo diet.
What about the «
paleo - diet», meaning the apparent fact that all grain and grain based foods are bad for humans because we can't properly digest them and they cause intestinal damage, with the apparent evidence being the negative effects of the agricultural revolution on humans, as well as the positive effects of cutting out grains from the diet for many
people?
Words like «gluten free», «organic», «
paleo», and «natural» can leave many
people scratching their heads, wondering
what these words actually refer to.
In the 25 - year update to their original
Paleo paper, the authors tried to clarify that they did not then, and do not now, propose that
people adopt a particular diet just based on
what our ancient ancestors ate.

And I do wish that
people would stop circulating photographs of unrealistically fit women as being the standard for
what women should look like if they're doing
Paleo «the right way».
From
what I can gather,
paleo can be pretty much whatever a
person wants it to be, aside from eschewing beans and grains, which seems to be pretty constant across the board.
And she pokes some holes in the «bone science» that alleges to be able to show
what people ate in
paleo times.
Paleo - reconstructions are not anything special in science — they are simply the result of lots of
people trying to see
what they can discern of the past through a rather murky lens.
To be clear, I do not think that Mann et al (2008) is the be-all and end - all of
paleo - reconstructions, but when specific claims are made about a paper, it behoves
people to actually check
what the paper and supplemental material says.
