what social reading is all about?

The
social network's size and influence — particularly for younger users who increasingly get their news there — means it plays a huge role in determining
what people see or
read about the world around them.
Cynthia Collins,
social media editor of the New York Times, told the Tow researchers that this relationship means «We surrender so much control in terms of
what gets
read.»
Much of emotional intelligence comes down to
social awareness; the ability to
read other people, know
what they're about, and understand
what they're going through.
Not only do blogs provide great content to your visitors (
read: user experience) they also encourage
social media sharing and interaction, which leads to
social signals, which is
what I've been talking about for the last few paragraphs!
Online behavior can point you to
what sites they frequent, the
social - media networks they prefer, the news they're more likely to
read and so on.
Researchers at the New School for
Social Research in New York have determined that
reading literary fiction — books that have literary merit and don't fit into a genre — enhances
what scientists call «Theory of Mind (ToM), or an ability to understand the mental states of others.
Read all that for a little while and you're sure to get the impression that we're all drowning in more information than we know
what to do with (though, honestly, you'll probably be interrupted by an incoming email of
social media alert before you get very far).
Two problems dogged the experiment however: Traffic patterns were unpredictable — an early manifestation of the News Feed algorithm problem — and it spooked users by showing people in their
social graph
what they had been
reading.
Some of us take to
social media for
what's happening in the world while others enjoy
reading the newspaper each morning.
With the exception of
Social Security and a pension for a few of you
reading this, your stock portfolio is
what you will have to rely upon to make your dreams of financial independence come true.
Audit
social media interactions, review LinkedIn profiles,
read blog comments, and revisit other prospect and client interactions to gain a true sense of
what the buyer is looking to achieve and his or her pain points.
Yes our quality of life is still quite good relative to SOME other countries... that not really

social climate our kids will face as they enter high school.

Author ReShonda Tate Billingsly made The Huffington Post news when she posted to Facebook a picture of her daughter posing with a hand written sign that
read, «Since I want to post photos of me holding liquor I am obviously not ready for
social media and will be taking a hiatus until I learn
what I should + should not post.
What that means is that kids who can't learn academics because of a learning disability will have trouble dealing with more complex topics like
social problem - solving, getting along with others and
reading social situations.
Believe your instincts, not
what you
read on
social media.
By teaching active listening, simple introductions, how to
read other people's body language,
what kind of questions to ask and then how to excuse herself politely from a conversation, you are teaching your child a
social skill that she can use for life.

There is every reason in the world to not be physically active;
reading to our children, providing quality meals, addressing their
social needs, researching all medications / foods / education, shopping to have the «best» deals on the highest quality (but the blanket MUST be organic,
what about off - gassing?!)
