Nor should the
teacher stress right

teachers who know better than anyone
what works in the classroom
and what your
pupils need.
In practice,
what this means is that a individual
teachers and schools are good at working out how their
pupils are performing relative to each other.
According to the DfE figures, 768 schools failed to reach
what is known as the floor target of 65 % of
pupils gaining at least Level 4 in formal reading
and maths tests, combined with an informal
teacher assessment of children's writing abilities.
Approximately 1,300
teachers are involved in writing the main exams taken in England
and the watchdog now wants to ensure they are not tempted to give their
pupils or colleagues any hints on
what will appear in the examinations or narrow their teaching to relevant topics.
