And that's why barbecue grillers are expanding
what they cook (i.e.: burgers, hot dogs and ribs) to include more exotic fare, cooking up bison, venison, elk,
rabbits, rattlesnakes,
wild boar, antelope, and — yes, Rudolph — reindeer.
Lastly its important to remember that
rabbits have very strong
wild instincts and are often only doing
what's natural to them.
This is why the main diet of any guinea pig or
rabbit should be hay, primarily Timothy Hay, which is closest to
what they would be feeding on in the
wild.
But
what they don't realize is that
wild rabbits dig long, deep burrows into the earth so that during the heat of the day they have a cool place to retreat to.
This diet is simply called Raw Feeding and follows the prey model of
what wolves and dogs ate in the
wild and advocates a wide variety of meats, from chicken and beef to pork, venison,
rabbit and other game.
What do
wild rabbits eat?
I stick to poultry and
rabbit and do not feed beef or fish because poultry and
rabbit are closer in composition to
what a small cat would eat in the
wild.
