years, sometimes decades.
Then light was liberated, and then gravity created the first stars and galaxies, then billions of
years later, a local star went supernova and seeded the local nebula with heavier elements, elements necessary for life, elements that were not created during the Big Bang, then the sun was born, then the planets coalesced, and billions of
years later some primate wrote a
story about how the Earth was created at the same time as the rest of the universe, getting it wrong because that primate did not have the science nor technology to really understand
what happened, so he gave it his best guess, most likely an iteration of an older
story told prior to the advent of the Judeo Christian religion.
What Nye is trying to demonstrate is that in the US, if you go by the statistic in the
story, nearly HALF of Americans believe in Adam, Eve and some business about an apple and snake; and that the world is only thousands of
years old and that dinosaurs are a cosmic joke from God.
Jeremy thanks for your comments alot of this i never really thought about before until you provoked me to seek the truth in the word it is
what we all should be doing finding the truth for ourselves God wants to reveal mysterys if we are open to hear.If we have been christians awhile we just take the word of whoevers preaching or whichever clip we see on god tube its knowledge but not revelation.Because the
story sounds plausible we tag that on to our belief for example for many
years i believed that the rich young rulers problem was money so the way to deal with that problem is to give it away and be a follower of Jesus sounds plausible.Till you realise every believers situation is different so the message has to be universal. So the reason its not about money because it excludes those that do nt have it and does nt make room for those that do have it but do nt worship it.The rich young ruler was not a bad person he lived by a good moral code but he made money his idol he put that before God.The word says we shall not have any idols thats a sin and a wicked one.In fact there wasnt any room in his heart for Jesus that is a tragedy. So when we see the message is about Idolatry we all have areas that we chose not to submit to God thats universal everyone of us whether we are rich or poor.I believe we are unaware that we have these idols
what are some of them that was revealed to me our partners our children our work our church our family i can sense some of you are getting fidgetty.
What I find so disturbing is that the metaphorical
stories provided by the Bible provide so much fodder for intellectual exploration, but they are being read as if by 5
year olds.
He tells the
story that one
year in mid-December a journalist from the local newspaper rang him and asked: «
What would you like for Christmas?»
the belief on the existence of the devil was concieved by theologians of the past thousands of
years, there was no other way of explaining the bad experiences of people in the past because we were not educated yet to the kind of
what we have now, Why this happened because that was part of the learning process that God wants us to know, in pathrotheism, we are part of God, and He himself is evolving because He is the universe, We are now the conscious part of Him, our destiny in accordance to his will also be His destiny because it is His will.Although He prepared first all the material reality of the universe ahead of us, The experiences for us humans including the supernatural is just part of nirmal process for learning because its natural process, today we reach a point of not believing the practices of the past, but it does not mean its wrong, Just like a child, adults loved to tell mythical
stories to them, because we knew children enjoys it as part of their learning process.
A British scholar has found that a 4,000 -
year - old cuneiform tablet from
what is now Iraq contains a
story similar to the biblical account of Noah's Ark..
Religious people have faith in the miracle
stories recorded thousands of
years ago by people that had no idea
what the universe (large and small) is composed of (earth wind and fire), or how it works (physics, chemistry, biology, etc).
The part of that
story that is this
story in a messy house at midnight with a loud clock ticking on the wall is
what the Greek philosophy books said on that guy's shelf: That more than half a century before the Gospel of John was ever written, more than 500
years before God pulled on flesh and stretched out on straw, Heraclitus was the first Greek philosopher who used that word: Logos.
