Oats is a bit of a funny topic amongst Coeliacs — although oats themselves are naturally gluten
free, most standard oats are produced in the same place as
wheat, barley and rye, which
makes them unsafe for anyone with Coeliac Disease.
Rather than
making a disappointing imitation of a baked treat that relies on
wheat flour, I prefer naturally gluten -
free desserts, and this intense chocolate mousse topped with whipped cream and a sparkling cranberry and crystallized ginger compote was so pretty and indulgent, everyone wanted seconds.
I added (quite a lot of) whey protein powder, and used oats (blended in a food processor) and rice flour so they just so happen to be gluten -
free (which was a happy coincidence, as my

free Aunt was visiting when I
made them).

After she realised licking it for longer would not

wheat flour, and used Enjoy Life brand dairy
free chocolate chips.
They use flour in the one they
make at playgroups we go to and the industrially
made Play - Doh is not

I bet this would be easy to

free by substituting buckwheat flour for the whole
wheat and perhaps a tsp of xantham gum or a tbs or 2 of ground flax to increase protein content.
