I would strongly advise people to think twice
when planning a home birth.

Your healthcare provider should give you a clear set of guidelines on what to do
when you go into labor, like
when to call and
when to head for the hospital or
birth center (or
when to call the midwife if you're
planning a
home birth).
In a
planned home birth assisted by an experienced midwife with collaborative medical back up in case transfer should be necessary these drawbacks are avoided while the benefit of access to medical intervention
when needed is maintained.
Some women
