When I have only one passenger or less, the seats fold down neatly and there is plenty of storage (more than you'd think!).

A flat and level storage area can be utilized when the backrest of the rear bench seat is folded down.

The seats when folded down have the carrying capacity of a small Sport Utility Vehicle, with perhaps a smaller opening at the hatch - back.

I also like that the seats can be folded down for extra hauling room - when I go scrapbooking I take a lot of bags and bins and I fill it up!

When maximum cargo volume is required, the bottom cushion moves forward and down into the rear footwell area, which in turn allows the seat backrest to be folded completely flat and onto the same level as the trunk floor.
