Although the INEC Returning Officer, Prof Emmanuel Kucha, declared that the candidate of the All Progressive Congress, Abubakar Audu, was ahead of his rival, Governor Idris Wada, with a total of 41,353, the commission must declare it inconclusive because the number of
votes is lower than the entire number of
votes that were cancelled in the areas
where irregularities were noticed.
(A good example yesterday here in Canada,
where a federal election took place, was the #PollWatch hashtag that followed reports of
voting difficulties or
irregularities at polling stations across the country.)
