while fleet sales decline 5 percent DEARBORN, Mich., March 1, 2017 — Overall Ford Motor Company U.S. sales totaled 208,440 vehicles in February, a 4 percent decline versus a year ago.
All four divisions were up by double digits, and the company claimed that retail deliveries galloped ahead by 23 %,
while fleet sales declined.
Ford said it had its best retail SUV sales ever, with overall retail up 0.8 percent,
while fleet sales rose 8.7 percent.
Not exact matches
While some franchises, like Domino's and Jimmy John's, were built with a delivery
fleet at the heart of their model, retroactively adding a similar
fleet to, say, McDonald's would cost franchisees millions of dollars with no guarantee of a
sales bump.
But retail
sales to consumers were down 1 percent
while lower - margin
fleet sales to rental car companies and government agencies were up 5 percent.
While Ford predicts retail
sales will remain strong throughout 2011,
fleet deliveries likely will see increases over the course of the year, says George Pipas, the auto maker's top U.S.

fleet drivers alike, the Business Edition variants currently account for 29 % of total S60 / V60
sales,
while almost half of Volvo's end - user business
sales for the S60 and V60 were for the Business Edition in 2016, proving just how popular this specification already is.

while Toyota, which sells to
fleet and taxi services, does.
While the practice of «punching» vehicles — that is, dealers bolstering
sales performance figures by buying up cars and stowing them or using them in loaner
fleets until they can be sold as used — is an ongoing problem, Ford says these models aren't being punched because they don't qualify as loaners.
