The lower level family room room
looked great from this angle with the
white brick fireplace and a new chair as a great starting point, but we still had all the swine walls surrounding it (see the chaos below) so it will be fun to have a clean slate in this room, too.

I'd suggest that a classic
brick tile in
white or cream all around the bath could be teamed with tongue and groove painted in the same colour on the other walls without it
looking too busy.
based on your inspiration, it
looks like there isn't enough contrast between the
brick and [what will be]
white trim.
The brushing would let more warm
brick color show through which tones down the
white, and the mottled
look would make the grout differences less noticeable.
Not a lot; maybe just kiss the
bricks that
look totally
white with the wire brush.

white washed out all the color without the aging

The man who is going to install it isn't available for about 3 weeks, but when he does come over to work on it, I'm going to have him leave just a liiiiiiittle bit of the (ivory - colored) grout we're using on top of the
bricks so that they really

looking at me with the weirdest face when I came out with my plan, but then he nodded his head when I kept asking him if we should paint the
