Gore: I'll always call the
brick ranch house on my family's farm in Carthage, Tenn., home, but for the past seven years, my family and I have been fortunate to live in the vice president's residence on the beautiful grounds of the Naval Observatory in Washington, D.C.. It's a large,
white brick Victorian house that's more than a century old.
I've painted every room in the house, except my small home office (which is the proverbial tiny third bedroom in a small
brick ranch that we've cottaged up on the outside), that is painted that apartment rental beige / cream
white.
