Those of us who try to ride bikes in the winter often wonder why cars get their own big right - of - way, transit riders get expensive underground subways, pedestrians get an elaborate network of underground walkways, and we, if lucky, get a white line on pavement marking a so - called bike lane filled with snow or cars.
Since most trim is painted white (or some sort of off - white color) in a semi-gloss finish, it often sets the tone for a room and when imperfections like scuff marks, dents, and peeling paint are present, buyers are often turned off and get distracted.
We have all white Quartz countertops and I have some dark marks from pan handles around the sink thay I can't get out!
We have Ikea (Ektorp) white sofa's and two chairs and ottomans.While I love the look of white, you hit the nail on the head - on all counts.Blue denim leaves marks, my three cats shed, drag in dirt, and company is very uncomfortable.Yikes, if I had known, I would have gotten leather instead (although Ikea sofas are surprisingly comfortable, and of course, very affordable!
I'm not sure I'd get away with painting the door... hubster seems to like white with scuff marks all over it but we did finish off the walls with tecture and paint.
