Last year I started to get into modern quilts which have lots of bright colors with white / neutral negative space, and just fell in love with the look.

I folded my antique red + white Irish Chain quilt + put it inside a large wooden box just this past week!

I went through my cupboards and found the blue and white stripe and blue denim shams and old white quilt with faded red flowers (just what I am looking for to create the old Nantucket feeling).

I am pretty sure the red quilt has a few kinds of pattern - an eight point star variation like pinwheel (main star) and hourglass (the extra red / white piecing) along with just plain square patch as a filler - its colorful and cheery with all the red!

Now if I could just save up enough pennies for that white pick - stitch quilt I want for the bed!
