I love the subtle touches
the white wax gives!
The white wax gives the Duck Egg Blue a more «moody» feel — it sits nicely in the grooves of the backboard here, and I'm sure on a more ornate piece that it could make little details really POP.

Because I eat what is recommended in MY
given menstrual phase not in the moon phase (
waxing moon — follicular phase / full moon — ovulation etc) which corresponds to the majority of cycles —
white moon phase.

give brief instructions in chronological order such as: painted two coats french linen, used clear
wax and dark
wax, followed by dry brushing with french linen & old
white, folowwed by protective top coat... or did you
wax again?
I used
white chalk paint on the shelves first, then buffed a little bit of dark paste
wax over the
white to
give them an antiqued look.
In fact, you can mix the paint and
wax together for a different look as opposed to dark, black or
white wax and it
gives an awesome affect.
I painted the base in Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Pure
White, lightly distressed it, and then
gave it a coat of clear
wax.
To protect the surface and
give it a rich patina effect, I applied one coat of Maison Blanche's chalk
white lime
wax.

I lightly distressed the dresser (mainly along the edges) and used a bit of dark
wax on the Old
White portion and intermittently on the top, sides and drawer fronts — enough to
give it an aged look but not make it too dark.
I think a
white wash with the
white wax over an orange pumpkin would tone down the orange and
give it that «cinderella» look.
She
gave these two end tables a new coat of
white paint and dark
wax.
