I am perhaps being somewhat uncharitable and there is much to commend, the
whole art fair
experience, such as the sculptural
installations and in particular Yinka Shonibare «Cannonbal Heaven» at the entrance, (Photo above) Romuald Hazoume's «Rat Singer: Second Only to God», Steven Maciver's «Nexus» and Zhao Zhao's «Waterfall».
He layers them in
installations that allows each photo to be perceived individually and as a
whole, thus collapsing time and change into a singular
experience that viewers can enjoy indoors in lieu of the real thing.
I owned one of these and will not go into my complaints because they are probably a result more of my
installation and operation than the design of the unit, but it comes down to the fact that we are adding a
whole lot of complexity and complication for the sole purpose of making it «nicer» at the front end, while making the back end
