The Post Carbon Institute film was a concentrated summary of everything that's wrong, not just with environmentalism, but with
the whole liberal left (of which I count myself a member, more or less).

when I first started reading up on how extreme Christian fundamentalism has become in the last 30 yrs (since I
left Evangelicalism), I was stunned to find that there is a
whole movement afoot to keep children, especially girls, from attending college — yes, even BJU — for fear of them being «indoctrinated» with «
liberal ideas».
I'll
leave it to others to debate his definitions of liberalism and other political philosophies, and there's a
whole other debate to be had about whether his leadership of the
Liberal Democrat party was doomed by his Christian faith, as he claims, or his failure to return a higher number of MPs at this year's General Election.
Although my favorite thing to do is marinate them in some cider vinegar with chopped fresh basil (dissolve
liberal amount of sugar in it to cut the pucker) for about 15 - 20 mins, top the slices with a

leaf and a thick slice of fresh mozerella.
One thing to note is also that Scotland as a
whole is far more
liberal and
left - wing (both socio - economically and in terms of global issues) than England is, especially under the leadership of David Cameron.
If they signalled they wouldn't do so, two immediate points of interest come to mind: 1) If Labour were the largest party, or even in a
whole UK majority, but the Tories were the largest rump UK party, the
Liberal Democrats could more easily claim a renewed coalition with the Conservatives was preferable to a centre -
left alliance, since a government that would lose its majority within a year would be unable to govern effectively; 2) A Labour or Labour - led government following a «yes» vote would have an incentive to push back the date of independence as far as possible.
At the last election only two in three votes cast across the UK as a
whole were expressions of support for one of the two largest parties, fewer than at any time since 1922 (the year that Labour first displaced the
Liberals as Britain's principal party of the
left).
As I wrote in my article Beating the Welfare Bigots published on
Liberal Left, the
whole idea of «unemployed» people «working for their benefits» is dangerous double - think, creating a sub-category of community servants that are excluded from the minimum wage.
Second, the
whole point of classical
liberals is that low wage industrial employees are overall BETTER off under lassiez fair economy than
Left's favorite planned economy.

On a radio show Monday, McCain said he won't be watching «Game Change» and accuses the
left (which ostensibly includes HBO and the
whole liberal cabal of premium - cable television addicts) of being sore winners.
I've never really known which way to go on this
whole issue of global warming but the fact that all the
liberal loonies in the far
left latched on to it years ago and made it one of their top priorities has made me very suspect about the data they cite.
