At the very minimum, you need a scanner with an automated document feeder that can quickly scan
a whole stack of paper.

I've also figured out a better way to store them in the freezer, separating the
stacks with strips
of parchment
paper rather than wrapping the
whole bundle in plastic wrap.

of the image from one sheet to another and lending the
whole a stuttering quality, like a filmstrip caught in a misbehaving projector.

paper it's written on, the pen or instrument it is written with, the envelope (if applicable) that is used (and
of course the handwriting on the envelope), the stamps used, the return address used (handwritten or label), the
stack of addressed envelopes waiting to be mailed and putting the
whole bunch into the mailbox!!
