I had assumed, given the low GL of Triscuits (actual true
whole wheat grain) and a slice of cheddar was a low cost «healthy» snack or «desert» post dinner.

Since fiber is found in a lot of
whole grain foods, such as

grains consumed be
whole grains: Shifting from refined to

grain versions of commonly consumed foods — such as from white to 100 %

grain pasta, and white to brown rice — would increase
whole -
grain intakes and lower refined
grain intakes to help meet recommendations.

For example, despite containing gluten, in my opinion a
whole grain wheat burger bun is often a better choice than the refined, white, gluten free alternative.
Wheat is a highly altered
grain with a lot more gluten than is natural, so switching to something like spelt (always go
whole grain), which is in a more natural form, with a lower gluten content can help a lot of people.
