If their luck is good they may take three or four hogs in a couple of days, as much as they can carry
home; and the meat prepared as above described is readily disposed of at ninepence and sometimes a shilling a pound; for when properly done it is a most toothsome morsel, and perfectly clean and wholesome, as the
food of these
wild hogs consists entirely of roots, berries and fruit, and their drink of the purest water.

Everything «old» is becoming «new» once more — and this extends to a return to
food crafts like: homemade
wild cultured sourdough breads, homemade cheese, or kefir and kombucha, likewise,
home based pickling and canning are all very hip.
Some items I like to keep stocked at
home (I choose organic and local whenever possible): unsweetened, full - fat coconut products (oil, butter, milk, cream); MCT oil; cold - pressed olive oil; grass - fed beef and jerky; pastured poultry and eggs;
wild - caught seafood; seaweed like nori (great for «burritos»); grass - fed, full - fat, cultured dairy like butter oil, ghee, and heavy whipping cream; raw milk and cheese; fermented cod liver oil; raw nuts and seeds (especially macadamia nuts) and nut butters; olives; fermented
foods like sauerkraut and kimchi; non-starchy vegetables and leafy greens; avocados; low - glycemic berries; lemons and limes; whey protein powder; stevia; apple cider vinegar; sea salt; garlic; onions; mustard; fresh and dried herbs spices (especially turmeric, cinnamon, and fresh ginger root); salsa; grass - fed beef and pastured chicken stock and vegetable stock.
We were able to nosh on delicious
food provided by
Wild Zuchinni, sip on sparkling sodas provided by Sodalicious and shop for beauty, hair,
home and clothing products.

The reason for the obesity problem is that in the
wild they can travel miles every night just looking for
food, whereas in a
home they may be stuck in their cages for weeks or months on end without exercising.

In the
wild they would be using their teeth to build
homes, chew through obstacles, crack through nuts, and forage for
food.
In the
wild, parrots and other birds fall beneath them on the
food chain, so it is likely in most
homes that the same rules would apply.
In
wild canids, this behavior can stimulate a mother wolf or fox to regurgitate the
food that she's carried
home to her pups in her stomach.
This slow eating would make them easy targets in the
wild, so they would normally bring their
food back to their burrow to eat it in the safety of their own
home.
Although cats miraculously survive in the
wild on a diet consisting of birds, rodents and other prey, bones from meat or poultry cooked at
home are harmful
food for cats.
