After a painstaking analysis that
modeled all known sources of acceleration for Juno, including the minute contributions from sunlight warming the spacecraft, Iess's team found a large north - south asymmetry in Jupiter's gravitational
field — a clear sign of material flowing beneath the cloud tops on deep atmospheric
winds.
The University of Tsukuba team has advanced this
field of study by establishing a novel approach to computational
modeling of air flow alongside
wind tunnel experiments.
The study brought together data from several spacecraft, as well as supporting observations from solar
wind probes and ground - based geomagnetic observatories, to develop a
model that describes the Earth's magnetic
field and its interaction with the solar
wind not just theoretically as had been the case previously, but based on actual measurements.
Miller et al (2013) combine measurements of methane concentrations in various locations through time with
model reconstructions of
wind fields, and «invert» the information to estimate how much methane was released to the air as it blew over the land.
That is, climate
models that do not include solar factors like magnetic
fields, solar
winds, cosmic rays, solar spectral changes, or lunar effects are able to -LSB-...]
To design and build the Haliade - X platform, GE Renewable Energy is relying on an unprecedented collaboration across the GE portfolio, leveraging the knowledge of GE's Onshore

From the Saturday night Baltimore, MD / Washington D.C. NWS discussion: «I can not recall ever seeing
model forecasts of such an expansive areal
wind field with values so high for so long a time.
They tweaked their computer
model and varied the conditions where they could: they found that consistent
wind power could be obtained if the turbine
fields were dispersed at distances greater than 1,000 kilometres.
Where observations are plentiful and span the variability, the reanalysis
field is close to what actually happened (for instance, horizontal components of the
wind), but where the output
field is only indirectly related to the assimilated observations (rainfall, cloudiness etc.), the changes and variability are much more of a product of the
model.
