Growing up
in the maritimes I was lucky enough to experience the annual tradition of
hiking into the
woods in late
winter early spring for the sole purpose of eating maple sugar and pancakes.
Since I live
in a mountain town and ski resort, I always look for uphill walks and
hike our ski hill quite often
winter and summer or local walks with uphill mixed with gentle downhill as this keeps my bladder forward and I do not have to stop and find the ladies room
in the
woods as often, as I might have to when I walk on the flat.
They're still warm enough to wear all throughout the
winter, but sometimes I think the fur makes them look too wintery when
in fact these are also great for the rain or a
hike in the
woods — which I've been wanting to do lately.
