So what is the perfect

winter in LA feels more like fall or spring?
I paired my grey dress from this post (which has become a
layering piece»cause I shrunk it) with a flannel skirt (similar here) and fringe vest (similar super fabulous vest here) that I scooped up for $ 10 each at a consignment store last
winter.
In the Fall and
winter I like to look for
layering pieces so that includes sweater dresses, vests, scarves, ponchos and pair them with denim, leggings, booties, high boots, the possibilities are endless

layering essentials for fall, but you can also use them as transitional
piece for
winter.
In the
winter time I rarely wear necklaces or even jewelry as my attention is on
layering pieces such as heavy cardigans and scarves, but hello, spring is coming shortly and its time to start dressing down the
layers as much as I can and as the weather permits.
As we are slowing ending the
winter season here in Houston I am definitely opting for more

The warmer it is, the more inclined we are to experiment with bold colour and print, however, if you feel your sparkly outfit is too bright for
winter - using black
pieces to
layer your outfit is a great way to tone down your magpie factor.

layered under a Georgia Tee in Flax Linen or over the Florence Pant in Silk Crepe.
It's an easy outfit anyone can put together with what you already own — I like

winter because you can get really creative with different
pieces and whenever possible I try to avoid the big puffy jacket.
When it comes to staying warm in colder
winter days, I love
layering with heavier
pieces like a wool
winter coat, fur stole, and fun leopard print sweaters.
Of course, I'll be living in these tights with cutouts, my new favorite jacket (which also makes for a great

winter coat for those bitter cold days!)
Except in the most frigid conditions, a few well - chosen
layers will keep you as warm as a heavy, bulky
piece, and you'll be better able to deal with fluctuating temperatures (such as overheated buildings in
winter).
Ponchos are a great
layering piece to have around for fall and
winter.
