As I mentioned in my last shopping post, I have been trying to focus on
winter weather items.
Not exact matches
This is a
winter mezze so I chose cold -
weather friendly
items but didn't at all feel like I was missing something.
I always wait for when the
weather gets really warm to put all my
winter items to storage and just keep somme pieces for layering if it gets chillier like cardies for instance.
With that in mind I've put together this spring capsule wardrobe based on what I'll be turning to from my own year round capsule wardrobe when the
weather Gods finally smile on the north of England, but until then I'll be utilising
items from my
winter capsule wardrobe (some of it crosses over nicely with this one).
Now I'm thinking I should have looked a little closer at the
weather before packing, but I didn't and now have a good amount of fall and
winter items that look totally out of place for the
weather.
So, as much as I would love to transition my closet to warm -
weather items, I'm still keeping the
winter / fall pieces for another week or two, like this gray midi dress.
Not necessarily for the
weather, but for the color palette that we start to crave as we pack up all of our
winter items and prepare for the bright and sunny times ahead.
This sale is perfect for stocking up on all of those cold
weather items you forgot to buy at the beginning of the season — cozy sweaters, boots, and
winter dresses.
The best part is that
winter / cold
weather items are already on sale plus some spring
items are out as well.
All things Suede — Yes, suede does tend to be a cold -
weather item most years, but this time we are seeing it make a really prominent showing in not just
winter shoes but also fitted jackets, skirts, vests and the like.

Review — Now that you have removed all the surplus
items you probably won't wear this fall and
winter, it's time to go through what's left and start getting into cold
weather outfit mode.
This chilly
weather has meant layering is still an essential component for getting ready in the morning, and it also means I've needed to be creative with some of my
items in order to come up with looks that aren't exactly
winter looking, but as still going to keep me warm.
With the
weather in Houston being so much more manageable, I tend to find more stylish
items to play with in these
winter months.

There are two categories of products I would emphasize for the
winter: back - up pumps and filters, in case something breaks down, and
items that will actually help preserve the pond during the cold
