with olive tapenade or fresh salads) or all those tiny details that make your visit perfect — like spreads in branded glass cups, comfy rocking chairs, friendly staff or free biscuit if you check - in on Foursquare.
Or I'll toss my greens and veggies
with olive tapenade, or add oven roasted, grilled, or sauteed veggies that already have olive oil in the mix.

For a crowd - pleasing appetizer, use mixed
olives to make a tasty
tapenade and serve the spread
with crackers and sliced bread.
Starting
with a whole wheat tortilla, I layered on hummus,
olive tapenade (I used one I bought at Trader Joe's), artichoke hearts, roasted red peppers (see How to Roast a Bell Pepper), fresh mint and spinach.

I made my other round
with a thick layer of chunky kalamata
olive tapenade inside, and freshly ground black pepper on top.
As you may recall, I made (clockwise from top right) a sweet cashew brie, a plain dehydrator - «aged» cashew cheese, a macadamia nut cheese
with kalamata
olive tapenade, and a chipotle macnut cheese.
After playing
with different types of ingredients, I came up
with what I think is, the greatest homemade
olive tapenade ever!
When we made it for the blog, I accompanied it
with a simple
olive tapenade, but when we had it for lunch a few days later we served it
with breads, cheeses, cured meat and baba ghanoush — just to make it a more substantial meal.
Cover the
olive tapenade with some seran wrap and add it to the fridge for at least 1 hour to let all the flavors develop
I stored the labne in a lemon, garlic and black pepper oil, and paired it
with a delicious black
olive tapenade to further complement the dish.
I made the salmon
with anchovy
olive tapenade, pistachio stuffed dates, eggplant caponata, and butternut squash fries.

Ingredients 400g firm - fleshed fish such as blue warehou, bluenose or groper, cut into large pieces salt and pepper 2 - 3 tablespoons
tapenade freshly chopped parsley and thyme 3 - 4 ripe red tomatoes, blanched, peeled and cut into chunks half cup fresh coarse breadcrumbs, tossed
with 2 tablespoons
olive oil Method Preheat oven to 170C.
Slather the crostini
with almond ricotta and then top
with a generous dollop of
olive tapenade and a tiny drizzle of
olive oil.
