Methodological evidence collected in the WHO - CIDI Field Trials and later clinical calibration studies showed that all the disorders considered herein were assessed
with acceptable reliability and validity both in the original CIDI38 and in the original version of the WMH - CIDI.39 Studies of cross-national comparability in the validity of the WMH - CIDI are currently underway.
The Patients Health Questionnaire - 9 (PHQ - 9) specifically developed for use in primary care
with acceptable reliability, validity, sensitively was used.

Fifteen - item versions of the scale demonstrate
acceptable reliability (α = 0.79 to 0.87) 46, 47 and studies have worked
with only 9 items, namely 3 items per subscale.48 — 50 This study uses a modified version of the 9 - item short scale.48 — 50 One item («I get along
with people I come into contact
with») was replaced
with another item from the original scale («I really like the people I interact
with») based on recommendations that wording in scale items be as specific, concrete and non-ambiguous as possible.51 The 9 - item questionnaire has three subscales
with three items each: autonomy, competency and relatedness.
Reliability will be assessed using Cronbach's alpha,
with a minimum
acceptable cut - off at α = 0.70, but preferably at α = 0.80 or higher, particularly for the key variables86 and individual items will be checked to ensure that there are no problematic items for this patient population.
Subscales
with reliabilities equal to or greater than 0.70 were considered
acceptable.
Acceptable test - retest
reliability and sensitivity in detecting children
with developmental delay and / or social - emotional diagnoses has been reported (Squires, Bricker, & Twombly, 2002b).
Scales had good to excellent
reliability with the exception of one scale that had
acceptable reliability (as measured by Cronbach's Alpha).
For the chaos scale, mothers were asked for their agreement
with four items (Cronbach alpha = 0.63, indicating
acceptable reliability): «It's really disorganised in our home», «You can't hear yourself think in our home», «The atmosphere in our home is calm» and «First thing in the day, we have a regular routine at home».
In the validation study (Olson, Gorall & Tiesel, 2007), scale
reliabilities were reported to be
acceptable for research purposes and applicable for clinical purposes only if combined
with other methods of assessment, ranging from alpha =.77 to alpha =.89 (Olson et al., 2007).
Respondents were asked for their agreement
with three items (Cronbach alpha = 0.65, indicating
acceptable reliability):
Our study confirms that the Spanish version of the 10 - item CD - RISC shows, in patients
with fibromyalgia,
acceptable psychometric properties,
with a high level of
reliability and validity.
Alpha coefficients were computed

Previous research has shown that this scale demonstrates
acceptable internal consistency, ranging from.7 to.8, and high test — retest
reliability (Fritz & Helgeson, 1998; Helgeson & Fritz, 1999), including a study of adolescents
with diabetes (Helgeson & Fritz, 1996).
To measure parent co-regulation strategies, we used a behavioral coding scheme previously used
with mothers of typically developing children (Grolnick et al. 1996) and children
with ASD (Gulsrud et al. 2010), and
acceptable inter-rater
reliability (k = 0.69 to 0.96 and k = 0.72 to 0.84, respectively).
It has been used repeatedly in investigations of families of children
with cystic fibrosis
with acceptable to high inter-rater
reliability (ICCs =.64 — .93) across subscales and studies (Janicke, Mitchell, & Stark, 2005; Mitchell, Powers, Byars, Dickstein, & Stark, 2004; Spieth et al., 2001).
