with animal advocacy organizations, rescue groups, conservation organizations, and government agencies are aimed at bringing about social, legislative, and public - policy changes that will improve the lives of captive birds and help protect birds in the wild.
Notes: For someone who wanted to work on corporate outreach but was not already affiliated
with an animal advocacy organization, starting an organization and developing a reputation, or joining an organization and convincing it to do this type of work, would be a significant obstacle.

The Humane Education and
Advocacy Program serves to educate children and adults about responsible
animal stewardship through (1) creating and providing humane education programs; (2) providing informational services to supporters and the general public; (3) networking
with other humane
organizations; (4) creating and distributing humane education materials; (5) creating, maintaining, and disseminating relevant information via the NHES website, social networking sites, and email newsletters; and (6) advocating for
animals by encouraging private companies, law enforcement, regulatory agencies, lawmakers, and other groups nationally and internationally to adopt policies and practices that support the humane treatment of
animals.

I think that really my goal
with HSUS is to create a powerful mainstream
animal - care and
advocacy organization that represents the broader movement's interests and puts the issue of
animal protection high on the national radar screen.
In November of 2012, she became Executive Director of Four Feet Forward, an
organization which coordinates
with nonprofit
animal advocacy organizations to provide pro bono assistance from professional consultants in various fields.
