I just cut 8» circles and then I hem
them with bias tape and then on the underside I zig - zag very narrow elastic about 1» from the edge (pulling it toward you as you stitch... then it will gather up when you are finished).
The first one is how to sew
with bias tape you make yourself without any time consuming pre-ironing.
This version was made in a coral pink crepe de chine,
with bias tape made in the same fabric.

with some bias tape and a catchstitch.

Making your own
bias tape, knowing right side from wrong side of ribbing fabric and so much more... and you end up
with a great towel bib that doesn't need to go over the baby's head.
I even customized the top
with my own variations: one version has buttons and my other version has
bias tape on the box pleat.
We each made two bibs, the first we both put
biased tape around to finish the edges, but
with the second I chose to pink the edges of our fabric and then trim to vinyl just outside the pinked edges after sewn (don't pink the vinyl or you will end up
with a very uncomfortable bib).
For a pro touch, I recommend that you also get 130 cm of 2 cm
bias binding
tape with which to enclose the hem seam allowance (see Step 7).
The neckline has been reinforced
with solid navy
bias tape as a decorative element and also to help it retain its original shape after washing.

If you don't like to have an exposed edge inside your pouch, you could cover it
with a length of
bias tape to hide the raw edge.
I got glass bead trim from Hobby Lobby for the dangly shade and
bias tape (like you did) for the bowl one, but I plan to cover it
with a cute multi-colored braided trim that will pick up the colors of the globe.
