I made half of the muffins
with blackberry jam (put a bit of batter in a tin, some jam, and more batter) which were quite good too.
Top
with the blackberry jam and pear slices and serve.

This isn't a big deal
with darker - colored fruits or fruits that also have seeds, like strawberries and
blackberries, but you might not want them speckling your jar of peach
jam.

with chopped chocolate chips,

Those summers were filled
with some of my most cherished memories: picking fragrant wild
blackberries and raspberries in the woods
with which we prepared large batches of
jam, and helping to thinly slice apples for my grandmother's perfectly arranged apple tart.
Actually the
jam in the layers is made
with blackberries (hence the darker colour).
The heat spell broke long enough at the end of last week that I didn't mind turning on the oven, and was rewarded for my efforts
with the most amazing aroma, that begins
with homemade
blackberry jam, and transitions into cocoa heaven.
The texture of the chia seeds also worked great
with the raspberries in this
jam recipe, it would also work great
with other seasonal soft fruit like
blackberries or strawberries, I'm thinking;)
I'm using Strawberries for this batch but
with the amount of
blackberries I see forming on our bushes I will definitely be making
Blackberry Chia
Jam.
