To lighten and brighten my favorite space I repainted the mirror
with Pure White Annie Sloan

think you are talking about a blackboard / chalkboard surface as opposed to a
Chalkpaint ie flat milk like paint not meant for writing on
with chalk but as a flat finish on furniture.
