We are trying to get more vegetables and whole foods in our diet and less meat, so I
chopped up an onion, garlic, and mushrooms and worked that in
with the
turkey.

I'll get in the kitchen and
chop every single fruit and vegetable in my refrigerator (and usually emerge
with this Marakesh Carrot Salad), I'll make meatballs (usually
turkey, always delicious), or I'll stand at the kitchen counter, stare blankly into space and thoughtlessly eat whatever salty snack food I have in my cupboard (usually popcorn, sometime cheetos).
In a large bowl combine the cooked chicken (or

Either keep it dairy (
with the cheese) and skip the meat and use butter or coconut oil instead of the bacon fat; or you could make it meat and eliminate the cheese but add a larger amount of
turkey bacon and use either beef drippings, schmaltz, or coconut oil; or you could make the recipe pareve by skipping both the cheese and the meat and using just coconut or olive oil and some
chopped, cooked veggies like cauliflower or broccoli, or even some salmon if you like.

You could try a toasted slice of gluten - free bread topped

with chopped veggies and tahini.
Even meatballs can be made over
with a mixture of
chopped veggies,
turkey meat (use a blend of
turkey and beef to help transition really picky eaters), and a healthy tomato sauce on top; look for brands like Amy's Kitchen, which don't list sugar at the beginning of the ingredient list.
