It attracts lots and lots of fish and is often swarming
with dogtooth tuna, and big schools of barracudas and surgeonfish.

Sharks patrol the coral gardens at Lafa Lafa, and the schools are definitely in session at Kau Vai Point, which teems
with reef sharks, large
dogtooth tuna, and hundreds of blue trevally.
Moving on to Komodo, we were blessed
with clear waters all week, and some really fishy dives at Batu Bolong, Castle, and Crystal Rock — a trio of the best dive sites in the park —
with white - tip reef sharks, grey reef sharks,
dogtooth tuna, along
with schools of trevally and fusiliers.
With a consistent current the divers got to see some action, as fusiliers were chased by Blacktip Reef Sharks, Giant and Orange - spotted Trevallys and even a
Dogtooth Tuna!
After swimming around a pinnacle surrounded by Redtooth Triggerfish, surgeonfish and rabbitfish
with a few
Dogtooth Tuna hovering around, the second half of the dive happened on a plateau gazing at the coral formations and looking for critters, like Tasseled Scorpionfish, Bubble Coral Shrimp and Porcelain Crab, among others.
The abundant marine life is also a huge draw
with frequent sightings of blacktip, whitetip, and grey sharks,
dogtooth tuna, barracuda, and eagle rays.
The Raja Ampats are also great for big fish action
with pelagic fishes everywhere such as the Giant Trevally or the
Dogtooth Tuna.
