I wonder what could happen if the Big Five publishers of the Anglo - Saxon world banded together like this to form an Alliance to defy Amazon, produce their own

software, and ecosystem would have to be absolutely top notch to make people actually consider leaving Amazon (the Big Five might want to capitalise on AudioBooks by making

The Kobo app actually works pretty well
with E Ink but the font options are dreadful,
with giant margins you can't get rid of — the complete opposite of Kobo's
software on their
ereaders.
That being said, the inkBook still suffers from the same kind of issues that all Android
ereaders suffer from: most 3rd party apps don't work well because they aren't designed for E Ink screens; battery life isn't as good as non-Android
ereaders; the page buttons only work
with a few apps; and the Android
software is less - optimized than what you get on Kindles and Kobos, and it lacks some features that they offer.
Although keen readers are already well catered for on Android
with the brilliant Aldiko, many people were understandably excited when Amazon announced that it would be bringing its Kindle
